As a nation, we have watched the heroic efforts being put forth by a strong and resilient community banding together to survive one of our nation’s greatest disaster to date, Hurricane Harvey. On 8/29 we New Orleanians were reminded of our own experience back on that fateful day in 2005 when our world was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina. Here we are 12 years later glued to the TV as we relive those nightmares of days gone by. Many things are coming to mind…how can I help , with whom can I share, what can I do to help my fellow Americans in Texas stay strong? Many of you who know me are aware of my love of animals. I have always donated a portion of my earnings to Animal Rescue Organizations and when crisis occur I kick into high gear. Below are the names of those I am donating to now. I am also donating to the Louisiana Cajun Navy, Houston Food Bank and Second Harvest. They are both doing amazingly good works on the ground in Houston and surrounding areas to get people rescued and keep them fed. It took New Orleans many years to rebuild and we are still at it. We never would have made it this far without the kindness of our fellows. We remember all the help we received and are making sure to give back. Thank you so much for giving anything that you can spare to help too.
