We are in the throngs of the Holiday season and all is a bustle and buzz. I am reminded of a time when I knocked around the mall, stood in line forever and became stuck in parking lot like traffic jams while I watched my joy of the season deflate and be replaced by some manic pressure to get things done. I would look around me and see us all in this irritably frantic race to get stuff. Was anyone really having a good time? Even the Santa at Macy’s jolly laugh was being manufactured for a paycheck. Let’s just say I hit a holiday bottom and became really bummed out. No ho, ho, ho for me! I was through and withdrew into a funk. I had totally lost that this was the season to be jolly, the season of holiday cheer. If this strikes a chord with any of you all I have worked up a few remedies to lose the blues and get back into the jingle bell swing. Here are just a few actions I’ve found helpful. Read More

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastes 3. Each turn of the year offers us the gift of participation in the natural flow. Life is cyclical and one of the keys to happiness is to tap into the energy of that time and take advantage of the support it inherently provides. Autumn offers us several opportunities to learn and grow.
I had been anxious the whole summer of Katrina. Hurricane seasons had come and gone for years without me paying any mind. The summer of 2005 was different, there was something strange in the air, an uneasy energetic current. I had a string of signs of impending doom. There was the mirror that shattered; the birds flew into my house and the dreams of all of the dead people in my attic. If there was as much as a breeze in the gulf, I was ready to get on out of here which ultimately I did. I evacuated on Saturday morning, packed up the sedan and headed north without looking back. Something wicked this way was coming. I psychically saw the flooding and I got going after warning folks to take their pets and get hell out. It wasn’t the wind that was going to get us, it would be the water and it was going to be bad. I am often asked by others from around the country if I evacuated for the storm and my answer is that I wouldn’t be a very good psychic if I didn’t.

Generally my posts are rather up-beat but I feel a great need to respond to the many emails that I have received regarding the disaster in the Gulf. Let me begin by saying thank you for your continued concern for us Gulf Coast residents. I cannot begin to express my feelings about this incident and what it means to us and the innocent wildlife but I’ll try and I will offer some ways that we can help those in the trenches trying to preserve the eco-system.
This month has been one of much upheaval for Mother Earth. As earthquakes continue to remind us how dependent we are upon the very ground beneath us and volcanic eruption, our dependence upon the air. No question that we have a symbiotic relationship with this magnificent planet but I believe that our side of the bargain is out of whack and we better get with the process of re balance and healing as these catastrophic events are calling us to make things right. While some may claim this geologic activity is cyclical upheaval, just a pattern in nature, I disagree and feel that we are far more complicit in these events and I would like to offer a few things we can do to help.
